Student Council hosted its annual blood drive on Wednesday, October 24 in the HS gym. Shown below are Bella Johnson & Thomas Hake. This is a great opportunity for high school students to get the chance to give back to the community. One pint of blood can save 3 lives! Approximately 32,000 pints of blood are needed in the United States each day!

Our JH/HS secretary, Tanya Fordyce, was diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer. Our staff and students showed her lots of support during "Breast Cancer Awareness Month." Our volleyball team, along with Winfield's volleyball team, has a silent auction and fundraiser during a volleyball meet. Funds were raised to help Tanya with medical costs. This is what makes L-M a truly fantastic place to be.
Library News
It has been a busy start to the school year in our libraries at Louisa-Muscatine. Our focus has been adding new books to collections in both the elementary and secondary libraries as well as continuing to update the physical spaces to provide a more modern, technology friendly meeting space that will also be more conducive for students and teachers to work collaboratively. This project is ongoing and ever changing to meet the needs of those who utilize the space and our hope is that with these changes comes more usage of the library and all it has to offer. For updates and to stay connected to the libraries at Louisa-Muscatine, follow us on Instagram and Twitter @lmlibraries and check out our library websites linked directly from the school’s website.
Game Night with Mr. Noll has been a hit this year! Students are invited once each month to have "Game Night" in Mr. Noll's science room. Activities include "Magic: The Gathering" as well as video games on the big screen. Please watch for more information about this event.
Preschool Field Trip
Our preschool classes went on a field trip to the "Red Barn Pumpking Farm." They learned about pumpkins, hay, cows, corn and had a lot of fun while they were there!
