The following is a list of school online databases. The following online databases have school and home access available to help students with their homework. Note: High School and Elementary buildings have different logins and passwords. They must be used separately when in your buildings. The building logins are the same for home usage. Issues and Controversies from Facts on File needs to be accessed separately. Issues and Controversies database has its own username and password. It is a great source for current research topics and speeches. 1. AccuWeather AccuWeather can help you fine the latest weather forecast day by day, or hour by hour. If studying countries and you want to know about that country’s temperatures and climate this site will help you. It also offers historical weather data. 2. AP Images Click on “Help” and print the General User Guide. This will be helpful in understanding the search fields. AP Images offers access to over 750,000 Associated Press photos to be used to enhance curriculum and/or support multimedia productions. The Photo Archive is an electronic library containing the AP's current photos and a selection of pictures from their 50 million image print and negative library since 1853. This subscription will give immediate Internet access to the world's largest collection of current and historical pictures from the Associated Press. Photos are added to the archive by the minute, so the most recent events and pictures are accessible to the user. Each photo includes an informative caption with photo details. Like all copyrighted images, citing your source is recommended. 3. Atomic Learning Atomic Learning is an electronic help desk and training system for computer software applications. It breaks down your favorite software programs into fast loading tutorials played right over the internet. It covers all standard applications like Office and many popular K-12 applications such as Kidspiration, KidPix, Hyperstudio and more. 4. BookFlix PREK-3 LITERACY Fictional video storybooks paired with nonfiction e-books 5. Britannica Digital Learning ONLINE ENCYCLOPEDIA PreK-12th grade reference articles, multimedia, and teaching resources 6. CultureGrams DAILY LIFE & CULTURE History, customs and lifestyles of the worlds’ people 7. Gale – Cengage Learning Full text magazines, newspapers, and reference books for teachers & students 8. iCLIPART for schools iCLIPART for schools is a collection of over 2.5 million searchable clip art files, photos, images, fonts, and sounds that may be used in teacher/student created instructional materials such as newsletters, presentations, assignments, etc. Includes 3D and animation now. 9. Issues and Controversies from Facts on File http://www.2facts.com/icof_home_feature.aspx Issues and Controversies is an online database great for speech topics. It has more than 900 timely, in-depth, and objective articles, exploring today's controversial issues. It presents Pro and Con statements. Includes an Encyclopedia and Almanac on the homepage. 10. LEARN360 LEARN360 is a web-based digital delivery system for streaming and downloading video and audio files and also podcasts. 11. SIRS Issues Reseacher SIRS {Social Issues Resource Series} is a database that contains articles from over 1,500 publications on topics such as health, history, science, global issues, and more. The articles come from domestic as well as international magazines, journals and newspapers. 12. Soundzabound ROYALTY FREE MUSIC Perfect for podcasts, Power- Point™, videos, video yearbooks, digital storytelling and more! 13.
